Re: integers

Not much has changed since the last time you asked this:

x = one positive integer
10x + 44 = other positive integer

x(10x + 44) = 3264   {their product is 3264}
10x² + 44x = 3264   {used distributive property}
10x² + 44x - 3264 = 0   {subtracted 3264 from each side}
2(5x² + 22x - 1632) = 0   {factored 2 out}
5x² + 22x - 1632 = 0   {divided each side by 2}

a = 5, b = 22, and c = -1632

Now, use the quadratic formula and only accept the positive integer.  Then, substitute the value of x back into 10x + 44 to find the other positive integer.

You could also use the problem solver found here, to quickly and safely solve the equation for x.
